Ditterich started weaving in Finland, then continued in Germany for 3 years.  After coming to the US, he studied at the University of Michigan under Bob Sailor and at Cranbrook Academy of Art.  Another favorite teacher of his was Theo Moorman.  Ditterich has taught at the Weaver's Shop & Yarn Co. in Rockford, Michigan, for 22 years, and is now a production weaver.
