RUG WEAVING – TAQUETE, SAMITUM AND MORE!

3 day workshop

      Learn to weave rugs using the versatile techniques of Taquete and Samitum.  Students will weave a rug sampler in class, while learning how these two weaves work so they can use them at home.  We will also cover some other important rug weaving information.  Students will arrive to class with a pre-dressed loom to teacher specifications and all weft materials prepared to spec.  Class size limit: 15.  Materials fee will cover handouts, price to be determined.

    Room requirements:  Adequate table/chair space for each student, electrical outlets for sewing machines and irons, chalkboard, chalk and erasers, good lighting, two tables for teacher.  Bulletin board with tacks a plus.

FEE STRUCTURE 

STANDARD FEES:  Workshops - $380.00 per day, 6 teaching hours per day.  ½ days of 3 or less hours billed at a flat $200.00.    In addition, all ground/air transportation, parking fees, air travel, room, board and shipping of materials to and from venue are to be covered at cost.  Air travel will commence from Chicago O’Hare International Airport to destination, with return to same.  Car travel billed at $.0.50 per mile, round trip, PLUS all gasoline costs round trip, plus all tolls incurred.

LECTURE FEES:   Lectures are billed at $250.00 each.  Venue must supply screen.  Microphone, if necessary, shall be supplied by venue.

Current all day parking fees at O’Hare, in the outermost, hence least expensive, lot are $32.00 per day.  I expect that will increase.
